The Builder’s Yard sleeps up to eight guests across four bedrooms, three of which are conveniently located on the ground floor. The three ground-floor bedrooms can each be arranged with either a king-size bed or twin beds, while the first-floor bedroom has a fixed double bed.
Three bedrooms benefit from private en-suite shower rooms, while the remaining ground-floor bedroom has use of a spacious separate bathroom.

The outdoor space is tailor made for alfresco dining and social evenings, featuring two 6-seater picnic benches and thoughtful ambient lighting wrapping all the way around the property.

No glitter please as even the most eco friendly kind is impossible to remove from the soft furnishings and hard wearing floors
If you wish to decorate the interior of the property, please use an adhesive that is suitable and won't leave marks on the walls or damage the paint when removed
No Karaoke machines of any type or PA systems
Due to the risk of fire from thermal runaway the charging of electric bikes, scooters, hoverboards and similar devices are strictly prohibited inside any properties
The Builder’s Yard may suit guests who prefer predominantly ground-floor accommodation. Three bedrooms, two en-suite shower rooms, the family bathroom, kitchen, dining area and living space are all on the ground floor. However, the property has not been described as fully wheelchair accessible. Please contact our team to discuss individual access requirements before booking.

Providing wonderful village accommodation, within a couple of minutes you can walk from the house to a selection of heart-warming country pubs The Crispin, The White Lion and a little further, in Little Longstone The Pack Horse. You will also find ‘Sally B’s’, the tiny village store which is brimming with essentials and local produce.
One of the best features of this location is you are only a few minutes from the Monsal Trail for unbeatable views of the famous viaduct at Monsal Head. If you head out of the village, there is an access point just near the bridge as you leave Great Longstone, from here you can cycle or walk the Monsal Trail.
The ancient market town of Bakewell with its traditional Monday market is only a short 5 minute drive, with Chatsworth House being a little further, Haddon Hall all are worthy of a visit.

It is always best to check the websites for any seasonal opening times as some places do shut early or close over the winter months.
Bakewell is the largest town within the Peak District National Park and is a hub of activity. Market day is on a Monday and as well as a large range of stalls there is also an agricultural market which is definitely worth a look around as it offers a great insight todays farming community. The town also hosts a craft and gift fair every weekend in Brigade town hall. The Bakewell Old House Museum occupies one of the oldest buildings in Bakewell and dates back to 1543, it provides a fascinating glimpse into the towns past and is very interesting and informative with lots to appeal to all ages.Obviously no trip to Bakewell would be complete without sampling an original Bakewell pudding. The Old Original Bakewell Pudding Shop claims to have the old the original recipe and still makes the puddings by hand from the secret recipe.

With the Monsal Trail so close by it would be rude not to take the opportunity to cycle/walk along this old Midland Railway line which runs from Bakewell right up to Blackwell Mill, in Chee Dale. The trail offers 8.5 miles of traffic free and mud free cycling/walking and with the recently reopened tunnels offers one of the most spectacular leisure routes in Britain for cycling, walking and horse riding. The nearest cycle hire is at Hassop station which is great place to stop for a bite to eat or for a coffee and nice piece of homemade cake! There is also a lovely little gift shop and book shop and a children’s play area. If walking it also worth leaving the trail and dropping down in to Monsal Dale itself to enjoy walking along down by the river. You are able to access the trail from the edge of the village where the bridge is on Longreave lane.

No visit to the Peak District would be complete without visiting the fabulous Chatsworth House. At Chatsworth there is something to do for every member of the family. The Farmyard and Adventure playground is a brilliant day out for children of all ages - with animal handling, milking demonstrations and daily activities, plus a woodland adventure playground. Then there is obviously the house itself, steeped with history it’s one of Britain’s greatest stately homes and has been passed down through 16 generations of the Cavendish family. The gardens are equally as impressive as the house, over 100 acres and as well and the beautiful flowers and plants, there are giant water features and sculptures dotted around. Again suitable for all the family, with the maze, the garden trails, and the famous water cascade to keep the little ones occupied.

30 minutes away is the popular attraction of Gulliver's Kingdom, great for children aged between 2 - 13 years, you can easily spend a full day exploring the site and enjoying the numerous rides available. Set on the hillside of Matlock Bath the location itself boasts great views. You have various themed areas within the park, from Western World, Pirates Play Area, Lost World of Dinosaurs and a log flume. Why not bring your own picnic or eat at the various eating spots throughout.

A couple of minutes away from Gulliver's Kingdom are The Heights or Abraham, a cable car ride taking you high above the valley letting you enjoy the stunning views. At the summit you can enter the 2 caves, Masson and Rutland Cavern, experience the day in the life of a 17th century miner from the guided tours available. There are also two play areas with slides, climbing walls, rope walks and a range of activities to keep you active all day.

After Chatsworth, Haddon Hall is the second most popular historic house in the Peak District. Haddon Hall dates back from the 12th century and is a fine example of a fortified medieval manor house, very little has changed over the centuries in fact the most modern room in the house is the Elizabethan long gallery! As Haddon Hall provides a unique view of early English life it makes the property very popular as a film and TV location, various versions of Jane Eyre have been filmed at Hall as well as Pride and Prejudice, The Other Boleyn Girl and most recently Death come to Pemberley, however these are just a few of the Hall film and TV appearances. The Hall is open to the public, however please note that it does close for periods throughout the winter season, so please check its website for its opening times and special events.

For reasons of both Safety and Property Insurance, under no circumstances should you use the domestic plug sockets in the property to charge any other electric vehicle. Our domestic supply in the property does not have the capacity or set up to support EV charging. The nearest charging stations will be at Bakewell on New Street and Bakewell Bridge car park.
