The White Peak Loop is a circular route of over 42-miles of rolling hills, quaint villages and scenic surroundings. Running through Derbyshire and the Peak District, the loop is an outstanding visitor experience suitable for walking and cycling. It connects three of the country’s most popular off-road trails: Monsal, Tissington and High Peak, with the market towns of Buxton, Bakewell, Matlock and Matlock Bath.

The journey takes you along former railway lines and the Pennine Bridleway National Trail with views of the White Peak and the Derwent Valley Mills World Heritage Site. Along the route, there is refreshments, picnics, accommodation and cycle hire opportunities.

The loop can be cycled in a day, or walkers can do it as part of a 2-to-4-day trip with various accommodation options across the route regardless of where you want to start from, including many of which are cycle friendly, whether you’re looking for luxury self-catering apartments, a cosy cottage or large houses ideal for groups.

Take on the full loop over two days, walking 22 miles, or slow things down and stretch it over four days, perfect for those who prefer to soak up the scenery at a more relaxed pace.
