New Group ‘Cycle Friendly’ Accommodation launched in the Peak District with help from Peak District Grant

The launch of 5 large group cycling friendly properties for 2019 is set to give cycle tourism a further boost in the Peak District.

Peak Venues will complete by December 2018, the installation of bike repair stands, secure cycling storage, wash stations and dedicated pumps into 5 large properties situated close to famous cycle trails such as the Monsal and Tissington trails.

Justin Heslop, Director at Peak Venues commented “We are excited to able to provide dedicated group cycling facilities for groups of up to 40 , in some of the best UK’s cycling spots. We have properties such as the Telephone Exchange and Hurdlow Grange which are situated on the doorstep of Tissington Trail and fabulous road routes. We can now fully cater for groups of cyclists who want to enjoy the Peak District and not worry about where the can securely store their bike”

Peak Venues have worked closely with the Peak District National Park’s Pedal Peak Initiative to ensure that the facilities for up to 150 cycle tourists will meet their cycling customers’ needs. In addition, Pedal Peak have provided a 50% grant through the European Development Fund for Growing the Visitor Economy in Derbyshire Programme to help towards the cost of the project.

Justin added “We have always known that the Peak District is an amazing place for cycling with classic road routes, family friendly traffic free routes and amazing mountain bike trails. Once we heard about the Pedal Peak support it was a no brainer for us to fully realise our ambition to create more bike friendly accommodation which meet and exceed Cyclists Welcome standards”

Peak Venues bike friendly properties are now looking forward to receiving their first cycle groups in spring 2019 to enjoy the best cycling that the Peak District has to offer.
