Our top 3 Bonfire Night events
Remember, remember the 5th November... The clocks have gone back, the nights are drawing in, it is time to wrap up warm and look to the skies. Here are our top three events for celebrating Bonfire Night.
1. Fireworks at Eyam

A great evening of entertainment in the plague village. It includes a torch-lit procession which follows the infamous Rat from the main square up to the playing fields, accompanied by chants of ‘Burn the Rat’. The Rat is hauled onto bonfire and set alight. A spectacular fireworks display follows. Torches and cinder toffee are available to buy before the procession and there is locally produced food and drink available up at the playing fields. The Village Green Cafe is open until 6pm on Saturday 3rd if you fancy soe food before the event. All funds raised go to Eyam School PTFA and local community projects.
Entertainment from 5.30pm; Procession starts 6.15pm;
Tickets: Adults £5, children £3. On sale at all local Eyam stores and pubs, Calver Spar.
2. Bonfire and Fireworks at Chatsworth (Main Image)
2nd and 3rd November
The events at Chatsworth are always spectacular and this is no exception. There are two dates to choose from this year - Friday 2nd and Saturday 3rd November. They promise live music, dancing and circus performers, face painting for the small ones, as well as the traditional bonfire and a dazzling firework display. There is always excellent food on offer from hog roasts to jacket potatoes, churros to sweet treats. Buy tickets online.
Entertainment from 6pm; Lighting of the bonfire: 7pm; Children's firework display: 7.30pm. Grand finale firework display: 8.15pm; Entertainment finishes: 9.45pm

3. Peak Cavern Music and Fireworks
3rd November 2018
For something a bit different, visit Peak Cavern. The annual Music & Fireworks spectacular kicks off at 6.30pm with live music performed in one of the country’s most spectacular show caves. It is followed by a dramatic fireworks display outside in Peak Cavern Gorge. Music this year is from LS Duo, featuring Lewis Nitikman, Shaun McLoughlin and special guest Ian West on drums.
A bar and hog roast from Heatherhill Farm Meats is also available.
Entertainment starts at 6.30pm; Music from 7pm; fireworks begin at 8.45pm.
